A guaranteed original one sheet teaser movie poster from 2009 for James Cameron's astonishing sci-fi fantasy epic "Avatar", the highest grossing film of all time.
Cameron began work on Avatar back in 1994 but it would take over a decade for the technology to become available to produce the film. The ground-breaking worlds and characters it portrays cost over $200M to bring to life, but, bring them to life it does, in ways that evoke the wonder of a child in an adult. It is stunning.
Nominated for nine Oscars (including Best Picture and Best Director), Avatar would win three, including, unsurprisingly, Best Visual Effects.
Four sequels are planned and we were treated to Avatar 2 / Avatar: The Way of Water in December 2022. Avatar 3 / Avatar : Fire and Ash is due for release in December 2025.
