Every now and then, while out searching for movie related posters and stills we come across a piece that isn't directly related to a film, but that we just have to pick up. Here is a wonderful example!
A guaranteed original and framed 8x10 publicity still of The Rolling Stones at the 1978 Day on the Green festival in Oakland, California.
Oakland's Day on the Green festival began in 1973 and ran through to the mid 1990's. In 1978, the festival was held over five Summer days, the first on 28th May and the last on 2nd September.
Day 4, on the 26th July 1978, was billed as the Very Special Day On The Green as The Rolling Stones were not originally scheduled to play the festival, but added it as the final date of their U.S. 1978 tour!
In the end, they headlined a day that included Santana, Eddie Money, Peter Tosh, plus Toots and the Maytals. That is some line up!
This superb photo of the band's flamboyant front man was taken by photographer Greg Myhra. It is signed by Myhra on the reverse and we will include a copy of the back of the photo for the new owner's records.
It is in fantastic condition and has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear Perspex glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!
By the way, the 26th July 1978 was Mick Jagger's 35th birthday! Apparently the audience sang Happy Birthday to him!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This still is priced framed. Photos showing 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
