Back in August (gosh it seems a long time ago) we worked with our friends at streaming guide JustWatch to publish the most popular films streamed in the UK in July.
Two months have passed and the latest UK Cinema Association's attendance figures show even though cinemas reopened in July and August, attendance has only grown to 15% of the pre-virus level. This despite the release of Christopher Nolan's "Tenet", the long awaited "Bill And Ted Face The Music" and Disney's latest animation "Onward".

We will take a close look at what this means for film releases next week. In the meantime, let's take a look at what we have been watching instead, safe within our homes, with the Top 10 films streamed in the U.K. in September, again with help from our JustWatch friends.
UK Film Streaming Top Ten for September 2020
So, in reverse order, here are the most streamed films in the U.K. in September 2020. Surprisingly, only two films survive from July's Top 10...
10 – The Devil All The Time
Produced by Jake Gyllenhaal and based on Donald Ray Pollock's novel, Tom Holland gives an outstanding performance in this dark thriller.
9 – I'm Thinking Of Ending Things
Charlie Kaufman's adaptation of Ian Reid's novel features superb performances by Jessie Buckley and Jesse Plemons in a complex psychological thriller.
8 – Dune
We have just learned that we will have to wait until 2021 to see Denis Villeneuve's reimagining of Frank Herbert's "Dune". Until then, David Lynch's 1984 flawed epic is finding a new audience.
7 – Ford v Ferrari (Le Mans 66)
Matt Damon and Christian Bale give fantastic performances in this superb high-octane tale of motor racing rivalry.
6 – Parasite
Bong Joon Ho's Oscar winning masterpiece is both hilarious and heart-breaking.
5 – One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
As a consequence of Netflix's excellent "Ratched", Milos Forman's 1975 masterpiece "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" is enjoying a resurgence. Certainly one of the greatest film's ever made.
4 - Bill And Ted's Bogus Journey
Across the land, inspired by the release of "Bill and Ted Face The Music", fathers are introducing their (perhaps bemused) children to the antics of Bill and Ted!
3 - 1917
A powerful story and an incredible piece of film-making from Sam Mendes.
2 – The Gentlemen
In the mould of "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", an ensemble cast enjoy themselves in a film only Guy Ritchie could make!
1 – Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Topping the chart this month are our favourite high-school heavy-metal heads, Bill S. Preston Esq and 'Ted' Theodore Logan in the original time-travelling school-report comedy, "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" - party on dudes!

If anyone is thinking about going to the cinema, could I recommend Saint Maude. This psychology horror film is well worth a visit. It works on many levels, as a study on lonleynes and isolation. The power of faith.
