James Bond first hit the big-screen in 1961’s ‘Dr. No’. Over the space of forty-nine years and twenty-five films, six men have donned the black tuxedo and answered to the call ‘007’.
It is perhaps unfair to suggest that one actor is a better personification of Ian Fleming’s super spy. We all have our favourite films, but for most that is more likely defined by our age than anything else.
All the same, the Radio Times asked the question and 14,000 readers responded.
The results are, perhaps, a little surprising…
The Radio Times Poll – The Greatest James Bond
Round 1 of the Radio Times poll saw Bond duos battle it out against each other.
Sean Connery beat Daniel Craig by a narrow margin, Pierce Brosnan trounced Bond one-timer George Lazenby and, surprisingly, Timothy Dalton knocked out suave Roger Moore in a tight contest.
I bet that has raised a few eyebrows.
The three winners then went head to head in a winner-takes-all poll.
In this instance it seems the original, really is the best.
We know of a few customers who would argue with the results! 😊
If that has whetted your appetite for a bit of Bond for your own home, why not take a look at our selection or guaranteed original 007 posters?
