A guaranteed original advance one sheet movie poster for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-bill "Grindhouse"!
Paying homage to the 'grindhouse' movie theatres of the 1930's - 1970's, the idea for a double-feature emerged during a film evening at Tarantino's home. Apparently these screenings even included trailers before and in-between the movies!
The two directors envisaged the same experience in a modern movie theatre. Rodriguez's film "Planet Terror" stars Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez and Bruce Willis in a tribute to zombie horror flicks. Tarantino's "Death Proof" stars Kurt Russell as a stalker with a 'death proof' Dodge Challenger!
They even enlisted friends such as Edgar Wright, Eli Roth and Rob Zombie to produce trailers for fictitious movies. (Two of which ended up being made in to full length films!)
Embraced by critics but under performing at the box office, this is a Tarantino film that has flown somewhat under the radar. The movie poster is a fantastic tribute to the early double-headers of the twentieth century, complete with fake ageing and fold-lines. A real collector's piece for the film buff and Tarantino fan.
As our photos show it is in super condition. It is also double-sided and so could be displayed in an Art of the Movies Light Box, or traditionally framed.
