A guaranteed original and framed '8 x 10' lobby card from 1971 for Mel Stuart's musical fantasy comedy "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", based on Roald Dahl's 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and starring Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, Peter Ostrum, Roy Kinnear, Denise Nickerson, Leonard Stone, Julie Dawn Cole, Paris Themmen and Dodo Denney.

What a magical movie! Apparently, Spike Milligan was Dahl's original choice to play Willy Wonka, but it is hard to imagine anyone other that Gene Wilder in this adaptation. Apparently he only took the role on condition that he could perform Wonka's entrance exactly as he wanted, limping then somersaulting to throw the audience off guard!

This wonderful lobby card is now over fifty years old! The image was snapped by a Unit Still Photographer during filming of the beautiful Pure Imagination scene. 

It is in fantastic condition and has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear Perspex glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!

By the way, apparently the composers of Pure Imagination, Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, wrote it in a day - over the phone!
