A fantastic and guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1976 for Don Siegel's western melodrama "The Shootist", based on Glendon Swarthoult's 1975 novel and starring John Wayne in his final movie role.

Alongside Wayne are Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, James Stewart, Richard Boone and John Carradine in a touching movie that sees an ageing gun-slinger trying to see out his final days in peace.

This superb poster has amazing artwork by movie poster legend Richard Amsel. The composition (almost art deco like) is unmistakeably him and the poster design and artwork shares much with his iconic "Raiders of the Lost Ark" poster.

This example was originally issued folded and has now been professionally linen-backed. This conservation process protects the poster and also greatly reduces the visibility of fold-lines. As our photos show, it displays superbly. An astonishingly good piece of art.
