An iconic original movie still from Billy Wilder's romantic comedy "The Seven Year Itch", released in 1955 and based on the Broadway play by George Axelrod.
Starring Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell (who had also starred in the stage play) this wonderful film plays on the theory that under temptation of a beautiful woman, all marriages are doomed to failure in their seventh year!
This incredible still captures one of the most iconic images of cinema - Marilyn Monroe standing with her white dress billowing around her as a New York subway train passes under the grate below her.
It is quite common for stills of this era to have stamps and stickers on the reverse that help with establishing a precise age for the piece. In this case, there are none. It was sourced from a large U.S. archive, so we are certain of its authenticity, but have few clues to be able to age it accurately. Going solely by the paper on which it is printed, we believe it is highly likely that it is from a re-release rather then the original 1955 release.
It is in fantastic condition and has been framed in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, barrier board and UV protective acrylic glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This still is priced framed. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
