A guaranteed original U.S. one-sheet movie poster for John G. Avildsen's 1977 underdog boxing masterpiece "Rocky", starring Sylvester Stallone.
Both written by and starring Stallone as the eponymous "Rocky Balboa" and made on a budget of $1M, the film earned over $225M, winning three Oscars, including 'Best Picture'.
This fantastic poster captures Rocky at the top of the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, perhaps the movie's most pivotal moment.
In order to qualify for the 1977 Oscars, the film was given a limited release in November 1976. All of the posters (such as this one) carry a 1977 reference number. This poster also celebrates the multiple Academy Awards.
This poster is still folded, as it was issued. It could be framed 'as-is', or the new owner may choose to have it linen-backed. This would flatten the poster and greatly reduce visibility of the fold-line. Either way, as you can see from our photos, it is in superb condition and displays really well.
A truly iconic film that is still spawning sequels, certainly one of the best sports films ever produced.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This original movie poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
