"He's not the Messiah... He is a very naughty boy!"
A guaranteed original U.S. 'style B' one-sheet movie poster from 1979 for Monty Python's brilliant irreverent comedy "Life of Brian", starring Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam.
Written by Chapman and directed by Jones, the movie tells of Brian Cohen, a young man fortunate enough to have been born on the same day, and next door to, a certain Jesus Christ.
Following EMI's late withdrawal of funding (less than a week before filming was due to begin), former Beatle George Harrison stepped in, remortgaging his own home, forming his own production company 'Handmade Films' and financing the film's production. (Handmade would go on to work with Gilliam and Palin again on 1981's "Time Bandits".)
This fantastic poster carries artwork by movie poster maestro William Stout! It is still folded, as issued. A new owner may choose to frame it 'as-is', or to have it linen-backed which would flatten the poster and greatly reduce visibility of the fold-lines. Either way, as our photos show, it is in super condition (there is a printer's artefact top left, this is how the poster was issued) and it displays very well. A super piece for fans of great British comedy!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This movie poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
