A stunning and guaranteed original Italian '2 Fogli' movie poster from 1980 for Mike Hodge's sci-fi fantasy "Flash Gordon", based on the comic-strip character created by Alex Raymond in the 1930s.

Starring Sam J. Jones (as 'Flash Gordon'), Melody Anderson, Ornella Muti, Timothy Dalton, Topol and Max von Sydow (as 'Emperor Ming, The Merciless'), this cult movie also includes a fantastic soundtrack by Freddie Mercury's Queen!

Now a firm fan favourite, a new Flash Gordon film has been in the works for some years. In October 2018 it was reported that writer and director Julius Avery will helm the project for Fox studios, with Matthew Vaughan as producer. How exciting is that!?!

This absolutely incredible Italian movie poster features stunning artwork by movie poster legend Renato Casaro. Casaro also provided artwork for the U.K. quad, but used a different composition for the larger Italian poster. As our photos show, it is a real beauty!

Originally issued folded, it has since been linen-backed (a conservation process that stabilises the poster and that greatly reduces the visibility of fold lines) and as our photos show, displays beautifully!

By the way, in the 1970s, George Lucas attempted to acquire the rights to Flash Gordon. Unable to do so, he went on to write and direct Star Wars!
