A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from 1985 for Joe Dante's teen sci-fi adventure "Explorers", starring Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, Jason Presson, Bobby Fite and Amanda Peterson.

The film debut of Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix had a troubled release. After the studio insisted that editing completed early, it was released one day after the Live Aid concert and in competition with Back To The Future. As a result, its box office performance was poor. However, it subsequently gained a VHS audience and is now a firm cult favourite!

We have no idea which artist is responsible for the amazing artwork of this poster, which is a real shame. (Could it be John Alvin?) It is stunning. So evocative. We love it! This example has never been folded and as our photos show, will look incredible framed and on the wall of any 1980's sci-fi fan.
