A guaranteed original U.S. one sheet movie poster from 1988 for John McTiernan's classic adventure thriller "Die Hard", based on the 1979 novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp.

Bruce Willis stars as all-action-NYPD-cop John McClane, arriving in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve in the hope of reconcilding with his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia). Is the Nakatomi office party the best place for that? Perhaps not. Especially if a ruthless terrorist (Alan Rickman) is intent on blowing the whole place up. Or is he?

Die Hard's portrayal of a flawed, 'normal' (rather than muscle-bound) action hero and Rickman's Hans Gruber, an intelligent thinking-man's villain, changed action films forever, making them more complex and character driven, along with the explosions and ever elaborate stunts. Without Die Hard, would we have Jason Bourne, Ethan Hunt and Daniel Craig's Bond? Probably not.

It is, simply, a classic!

By the way, is it a Christmas movie? Well, it was released in July, but I don't think it would be Christmas without it!
