A guaranteed original one sheet movie poster from the 2002 restoration release of Fritz Lang's seminal anti-fascist silent sci-fi movie "Metropolis", written by novelist and screenwriter Thea von Harbou and first released in 1927.
Ground-breaking at the time, Lang's thirteenth movie is still influencing movie-makers in the 20th and 21st centuries. C-3PO's design owes quite a bit to Lang's 'Maschinenmensch' ('machine person').
The movie poster for the original 1927 release was by German illustrator and graphic designer Heinz Shulz-Neudamm. Only a few examples are known to still exist. Two currently sit at number 3 and number 1 in the list of most expensive movie posters. The most expensive sold for $690,000 in 2005. It is rumoured that Leonardo DiCaprio was the buyer.
This super poster was created for the 2002 restoration release, produced by Kino International. It is in great condition and being double-sided is suitable for display in an Art of the Movies Light Box or traditional framing. Either way, it will look fantastic on the wall of any sci-fi fan or movie buff.
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
