Based on the oft-quoted myth that humans only use 10% of their brain's capacity, this superb movie follows the transformation of Lucy as the synthesised drugs she is forcibly carrying within her leak in to her system, transforming her cognitive and physical abilities.

Besson's inspiration was apparently the skull of 'Lucy', an ancient fossilised hominid discovered in Ethiopia whose brain was around a third of a modern humans. What were we doing with the extra capacity?
