A guaranteed original and framed '8 x 10' English lobby card from 1968 for one of the most influential films ever made, Stanley Kubrick's legendary "2001: A Space Odyssey".
Based on the short story The Sentinel by Arthur C. Clarke, the screenplay was written jointly by Kubrick and Clarke. Although financed by MGM from the U.S., the film was largely made in the U.K. It's ground-breaking visual effects earned Kubrick an Oscar. One of four of the film's nominations.
This superb lobby card would have been used in the lobby of a U.K. cinema at the time of the film's release. It captures one of the movie's most famous scenes with an air stewardess on board the orbital space-plane Orion III. In the zero gravity of space she rotates to enter the cabin by walking up the wall of the ship. In the days before CGI, this effect had to created physically. It is well worth looking up how Kubrick and his team did it!
It has been framed by us in a black ayous wood frame with an iced white mount, protective barrier board and crystal clear Perspex glazing. As our photos show, it will look amazing on display!
We only sell guaranteed original movie posters. We do not sell reproductions.
Note: This lobby card is priced framed. Photos showing 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
