An absolutely stunning and guaranteed original U.S. subway movie poster for Lewis Gilbert's 1967 secret agent adventure "You Only Live Twice", with a screen play by Roald Dahl, loosely based on an original story by Ian Fleming.
"On Her Majesty's Secret Service" had been planned as the fifth of the Bond series, but the need for snow covered locations led to a change in direction. Sean Connery reprised 007 in a Japanese themed story, battling against Donald Pleasance's iconic 'Ernst Stavro Blofeld', head of the terror network SPECTRE.
This is a really special poster. The stunning artwork of Connery's Bond surrounded by his female entourage is by movie poster legend Robert McGinnis. This poster was produced for display on one of the thirty-two U.S. subway / metro systems.
Condition wise, it is superb, save for one small edge tear on the left (see photo) and a few aged fluid splashes top left corner (again, see photo). Neither detracts from a stunning and highly collectible piece of 007 history.
It is so unusual to track one down of this size, in this condition.
Note: This poster is priced unframed. Photos showing framed and 'in room' images are for illustration only. Please check our hi-res images and the sizing information shown above.
